[proposal] "root" folder saved in "rw"

I need to use some apps through "sudo" but I keep losing their configuration, after a reboot, since the root user's home folde (/root) is not stored.

I would like to add the "/root" folder as part of the ones kept inside "/rw" just like the user's home folder is kept.

But before digging into the code, can any of the main developers point out any blocking issues regarding this change? or if appropriate patches are sent for this feature, would they be accepted?

I don't see any reasons for not keeping root on /rw. Marek?

We should ensure that root can login without its home directory - so it will
be possible to access the VM when something goes wrong with private.img. But
besides of that IMO its good idea.
