Hi - I'd prefer to use Qubes OS for its improved security model over a Linux distribution such as Debian, but the one thing stopping me from adopting it full-time as my primary workstation is that I want to be able to use GPU pass-through to have some VMs to do some light gaming and lots of video editing. I like the idea of starting up a VM for development, for video editing, web browsing, financial transactions, and light gaming, then shutting them down when I'm done. I believe the last time I read up on the state of GPU pass-through on Qubes OS, I read that the concern was security concerns with GPU pass-through and using the same GPU on dom-0. One possible solution someone had asked about in an old thread was what about using a separate GPU (either discrete or integrated) for pass-through, so the GPU used for dom-0 remains secure. What is the latest development on that front?
My other option is to go with something like Debian and use kvm.
As Qubes stands right now, without GPU pass-through, I can do everything except the video editing and light gaming.
Thanks in advance!
