Dear Shenturians,

There is now a low cost option for people interested in SP.  Shen Professional Home edition gives you access to all the facilities of SP for £10 a month and will even allow you to produce commercial code.  Type secure concurrent programming, web connection, an extensive library of utility functions, graphics - are all available under SP and the system is run from the cloud and is updated every month.

Because the Shen kernel is BSD, before the end of this year it will be possible to write a Shen application and use SP Home to generate the native BSD kernel code necessary to support that application and run it outside Shen.

To subscribe simply go to http://shenlanguage.org/professional.html, scroll down to the bottom and click on the Subscribe button.

Within 48 hours* I'll come back to you with instructions for installing SP Home under Linux or Windows (your choice).

Mark

* If I don't get back to you quickly for some reason, then feel free to mail me using the address on the same page.

The donate button picture seems to be broken.

Urgh, I am truly sorry. The *PayPal* button is broken. It is, of course, not a donation button.

It looks fine here. If your refresh a few times does it still not show up?

Really?  We tried it just short of payment and it seemed to work.  Where is it broken?

I can see the pic at Bruno's link, so I tried to open the picture on the site directly in my browser.

uBlock shows me that this is the address of the picture:
https://ak1s.abmr.net/is/www.paypalobjects.com?U=/en_US/GB/i/btn/btn_subscribeCC_LG.gif&V=3-imNQ7gDNgR4B%2f9A4waSNGkK21csmcZz2i+PCACr++eSyZnaFqYxUrpdlZ3Sg+9Cv&I=BA079E7B6D11AA1&D=paypalobjects.com&01AD=1&
and gives me the following reason for blocking:
"

Because of the following filter

||ak1s.abmr.net^

Found in: hpHosts’ Ad and tracking serversMVPS HOSTS
"

Blocking that seems reasonable to me. Are you required to use the diversion?

I don't know why Bruno posted a picture of the button. It is a picture no more.  However clicking on the button in the SP page should take you to Paypal.

Are you being blocked from payment by something?  You should get the following page when you click.

Well, it is a picture embedded in an input, and if I'm understanding right, the problem Thomas is having is that it is not being rendered in his browser (because uBlock, and ad-blocker, is blocking it).

Here is the markup I see on the page:

                <form
                action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr"
                method="post" target="_top">
                    <input type="hidden" name="cmd"
                    value="_s-xclick"><input type="hidden"
                    name="hosted_button_id" value="9ZAKD75QSEKB6"><p><input
                    type="image" name="submit"

src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/GB/i/btn/btn_subscribeCC_LG.gif"
                    alt="PayPal ? The safer, easier way to pay online!"
                    align="bottom" border="0" width="160"
                    height="47"><img
                    src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_GB/i/scr/pixel.gif"
                    width="1" height="1"> </p>
                </form>

The url of the image used in the input doesn't look like what uBlock is blocking for Thomas (which looks like something else, with the image url embedded in it).

Thomas, what do you see in the markup itself? the same URL as I or what uBlock claims to be blocking?

Ah OK; over zealous software.  There are online discussions about this

If this is the problem, then Thomas needs to either change the filter list or disable the ad blocker to enable him to subscribe and then turn it on again.
