New to Python(x,y)

Hello Everyone,

I am new to using python, I have installed python(x,y). When I click on the desktop icon of python(x,y) it opens a small rectangular window (kind of) Shown below 


I am not sure what to do or how to open the python 2.7  IDLE after this.. Basically I am clueless about how to proceed from here.. so, I would appreciate if some one can point out what needs to be done,..

If you want idle, you can choose idle from the Applications drop down list (which, in your screenshot  is currently showing Ipython QT console. The python interpreter can be accessed from any command prompt, since the python command would (usually) reside on the system path. You can also call up idle(really idle.pyw) from anywhere if you add c:\python27\Lib\idlelib to the system path.
