In short

EFL is seeking a data management guru to work in Lima-Peru as the primary owner of data quality. You’ll have the opportunity to interact directly with developers, statisticians and data scientists to play a critical role in the smooth functioning of our critical data-dependent processes. With responsibility for writing complex queries, assisting in design of future products and services relying on database assets, manipulating and monitoring the data to ensure quality, you’ll see the end-to-end dataflow at EFL. Your role will be crucial to the continued growth of EFL’s technology in 20 different countries around the world.

Requirements

Mandatory:

• You must either be fluent in English and Advanced in Spanish or fluent in Spanish and Advanced in English.
• 2 year or 4 year degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering or a related degree; equivalent work experience is considered.
• 4+ years of experience with MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, or MSSQL.
• Demonstrated SQL skills with experience troubleshooting data quality issues
• Strong command of SQL including data aggregation, stored procedures and functions.
• Experience manipulating unstructured and semi-structured data like JSON and XML.
• 2+ years of experience in database performance analysis and database administration.
• Ability to function independently and be an active team player.
• Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Experience with Linux and Windows.

 

Highly desired:

• Experience with NoSQL databases.
• Git experience.
• Statistical programming experience, including R, STATA, or MatLab.
• Experience with REST or SOAP web services.
