Context plot options do not maintain stepMode

It seems that none of the contextual plot options function if the input x and y arrays are not the same length, which is the case when stepMode is true.

Current use case is a large plot object that is rendered in step mode. Downsampling is necessary to get the plot running efficiently, or else it jumps and lags when panning/zooming, etc.
