Hello,

What is the correct procedure to request new Trove Classifiers? PyPI
tutorial [1] linked from PyPI itself says they should be requested
from catalog-sig, but I got no reply to the email below that I sent
nearly 1.5 years ago. I then forwarded it to disutils-sig but got no
reply either.

I have also submitted two issues to pypa/pypi project over two years
ago [2&3]. It seems I'm not the only one ignored, because also py.test
team has submitted a similar request both to pypa/pypi [4] and to
newer pypa/warehouse project [5].

Hello,

Robot Framework <http://robotframework.org> is a generic acceptance
level test automation framework implemented with Python. The core
framework and quite a few test libraries and other tools related to it
are available on PyPI:
https://pypi.python.org/pypi?%3Aaction=search&term=robotframework&submit=search

Would it be possible to get a separate classifier for Robot Framework?
Probably something like `Framework :: Robot Framework`.

It would also be convenient to have these two new sub-classifiers:

Topic :: Software Development :: Testing :: Unit
Topic :: Software Development :: Testing :: Acceptance

Cheers,
.peke

Hi, the procedure is pretty much what you've done: demonstrated a need and requested a classifier. I've added it :-)

Hi r1chardj0n3s,

could you please also add the following new Trove Classifier...

Framework :: Pytest :: Plugin

... as it has been requested in pypa/warehouse#542?

This would be much appreciated as it would help to discover pytest plugins that don't follow the inofficial "pytest-*" convention.
My own project goodplay would then also be discoverable more easily.

Best Regards,
Ben

Hi r1chardj0n3s,

did you had a chance to have a look?
As pytest is one of the most used test tools in Python, I guess it should be no problem to get this in!?

Hi benschwarze,

As Richard is one of the most overloaded people working on and around
PyPI, I guess it should be no problem to be patient!?

In keeping with the existing patterns, I have added "Framework :: Pytest" and plugins can register that classifier.
