base 64 email?

Hiya,

I am trying to get my email to work with base64. I could send the email as html text but then I was hitting
the problem with 998 character limit problem with sending an email where it would insert a space character.

I did some research and understood that I needed to send as base64 to avoid this problem? How do others
avoid this problem.
