hmm, cool. have you tried thinking of any other visual metaphors? i find it a bit hard to think about as is with the 'hot tile' one.

suggested retheme: live nude sokoban.

or what if it's mud? the sticky kind. you could play a squishing sound when the player steps in it and an ineffectual grunt when she tries to push from it?

if you wanted to get advanced you could even leave little muddy footprints, but i don't know whether that would cross the line into distracting.
