Dear Chairman PEMRA

I am professor of a University. Just visit the web site of PEMRA (http://www.pemra.gov.pk/complaints/) to launch a complaint but surprised to see, a large number of complaints are already there, particularly about the vulgar dresses on family news channels of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Unfortunately, PEMRA did not address these right complaints. So this complaint portal is useless and just the wastage of time.

Now our youth is being trained through adds like “Seen on hay”, being telecast with high frequency on “DUNYA” channel since Ramadan ul Mubarak this year. Is this training mandatory during summer vacations for the students of Punjab Group of Colleges. I was the regular viewer of DUNYA channel but as the protest I have stopped watching it and boycott the relevant product. We people know very well, some companies are working on the agenda of our enemies to ruin our youth, culture, values, and language. At least we should not be the part of it. Mian Amir Mahmood, the CEO of both groups and many universities is specially requested to take serious notice against the responsible person, otherwise you will also be responsible here after.

Here are my suggestions to PEMRA:

  1. Immediately ban all those contents in media which are against the our Islamic & cultural norms.
  2. Some advertises are very clean and they also include moral lessons, should be exempted from tax. Media can also support these with discounted rates.

What we can do as the citizen:

  1. Prefer to buy those products who have some good moral lesson in their adds.
  2. Boycott those products and media channels who are going against our cultural, moral, and Islamic values.
  3. I never ask to “forward”. It should be your own choice.

Salaam

Respected All
We need to review our (parents teachers particularly and society in general) aims and goals of training regarding youth or next generation. The way a child is trained in the early years at home and then in school, college, university is reflected in future life. We (parents teachers particularly and society as a whole) should focus on basic training to change the scenario.

Assalam o Alaikum !

I watch DUNYA channel the most of my TV Time and LIKE its refreshing programs,

BUT can't understand that release of new songs, films and dresses are considered NEWS here, especially in morning news that I extremely DISLIKE.

Best Wishes and Regards

A. Iqbal
