Hi,

Is there a way to run profanity on debian?
I tried searching it but Google did not help a lot.

The latest code from github should work on debian.

We are currently waiting for the libstrophe maintainer to accept changes to allow an official debian package of libstrophe, after which the profanity package may be released.

In the meantime, the process is manual. Dependencies need to be installed:

https://github.com/boothj5/profanity/blob/master/install-all.sh#L27

libstrophe needs to be built manually:

https://github.com/boothj5/profanity/blob/master/install-all.sh#L71

And then profanity may be built:

https://github.com/boothj5/profanity/blob/master/install-all.sh#L88

The install-all.sh script may work, although I have only tested on Ubuntu, not Debian.

Thanks. I had to update python and put the install-all.sh in the "libstrophe" folder.
It Works great now.
