Hi all,

What if we had level generators that could generate levels for just
not a single game, but for any game? In other words, what would a
"general level generator" be like?
I wrote a little blog post discussing this:
http://togelius.blogspot.com/2016/06/on-level-generation-in-general-and-new.html

It is based on a new paper of ours:
http://julian.togelius.com/Khalifa2016General.pdf

And a new competition, namely the Level Generation Track of the
General Video Game AI Competition:
http://gvgai.net/

The real purpose of this mail is to get you to participate in that
competition. But I'm of course also interested in the discussion in
itself. I think general level generation is both potentially useful to
game developers, and a very interesting AI problem in its own right.

Julian

PS: the other tracks of the GVGAI competition (planning, 2-player, and
learning) will also happen this year and are just as interesting.
