Permissions/Roles

In my model i have users and organisations. Users can be invited to many organisations databases, but their access might be read or write depending on their role for a particular organisation.

Should I create a private or shared database when I want organisation wide (but not public) sharing?

How do I configure roles/permissions to set the access type the user has to that database? 

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
