PLT - Ohio Facilitator Leader,

 

This year Project Learning Tree – Ohio is again requesting your nomination (can be for yourself too) for the PLT-Ohio Outstanding Educator recognition. You or someone you know, no doubt would be deserving of this recognition. Please take time to  nominate! It’s a simple process.

See below for the criteria.  Ignore the outdated nomination deadline, and please submit any time. To be considered for 2013 award, please submit the Outstanding Educator nomination by September 30.

 

PLT-Ohio Outstanding Educator Award

The Outstanding Educator Award is an annual award to acknowledge the work of an educator in Ohio.

For this award “educator” is broadly defined to include teachers, naturalists, youth leaders, or any other

individuals actively involved in the education of youth. Nominees will be selected based on the following

criteria:

Demonstrates significant commitment to environmental education and natural resources

Contributes to and follows the “awareness to action” sequence of learning in environmental

education

Uses PLT to make an impact on curriculum standards, proficiencies, or policies

Shows promotion and enhancement of environmental ethic at the local or state level

Recruits others into use of PLT or has been an advocate of PLT in other ways such as facilitating,

in-service programs, school wide programs, etc.

Has personal qualities that personify an outstanding PLT educator such as leadership, energy

and enthusiasm, involvement in special environmental projects, etc.

Demonstrates other interests and activities connected to trees, forests, and the environment

 

In 2013, PLT-Ohio will only be selecting an Outstanding Educator awardee, and all other award recognition will resume in 2014. Award nominations are accepted for all recognitions is year-round and those received will be held until the next awards cycle and considered then.
