I've taken a spectrum of the moon :-) but that's just reflected light. I know there was some discussion of building telescope adaptors but haven't seen data myself.

(also CC'ed the spectrometry list!)

I noticed some of the original Kickstarter backers described their intentions to use the DIY spectrometer to do some astronomical spectroscopy, probably in conjunction with a telescope and perhaps a telescope eye piece adapter of some kind. Has anyone on here had luck with that? I search around the Wiki and there doesn't seem to be any material on it. I'm not talking about high-resolution measurements here, just some basics for educational purposes.

I tried it once, a long time ago with no success, but I attributed the failure to the camera, not the set up. There are astronomical gratings for CCDs, try looking at the cloudy nights spectroscoy forum.
