In conjunction with the Louisiana Floodplain Management Association’s (LFMA) Annual Conference, FEMA will be offering a 4-hour training workshop focusing on the use of the Substantial Damage Estimator software. This course is available at no charge to Louisiana local officials and attendance at the LFMA conference is not required to participate.

This course will cover basic, introductory information on the Substantial Damage Program; however, it will be specifically geared towards those community officials already possessing a basic understanding of the principals and concepts of the program.  This training will be software intensive and it is recommended that all participants bring a laptop preloaded with the SDE software, freely available from the FEMA website.

The Substantial Damage / Substantial Improvement Desk Reference may be downloaded from:
https://www.fema.gov/media-library/assets/documents/18562

The Substantial Damage Estimator software and supporting documentation may be downloaded from:
https://www.fema.gov/media-library/assets/documents/18692

Due to the hands-on nature of this workshop, seating is limited.  If you plan to attend, please register by sending your name, organization, phone, and email address to Chad Ross at chad...@fema.dhs.gov no later than close of business Tuesday, April 18.

Thank you very much for your interest.  Please forward this announcement to any Louisiana local official you feel may benefit from this training.  Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about this workshop.
