I want to create a simple JavaScript application which pulls the latest 10 articles of a given subject area in JSON format. The v3 documentation claims search is not supported and that specific IDs are needed? Is there a way to search a subject area using v4 similar to "http://api.plos.org/search?q=subject:"biotechnology"&api_key=123"?

Thanks,
Josh.

Josh,

the ALM application has no information about subject area, it only stores DOI, title and publication date. Use api.plos.org for this.

Best, Martin

Whoops, just realised v4 is for admin privilege only. Is there a way around ID search on the v3 API to search for subject area instead?

I feared as much. Thank you for the rapid reply! I'll try out the API.
