Tomcat Server (Servlet) - Play Server ?

Hi,

Servlet is being used in the web-container. 

Is Servlet is being used in the Play framework? I see routes, controller and all files

Play has 2 flavours - java and scala. Finally the files running in the play framework is a servlet or a different one

Play is not a J2EE framework and does not implement the servlet spec, by design. Play apps are standalone Java applications.
