Hi

Our clinics are going paperless. We need to be able to write the patient plans to a pdf file to be exported to paperless patient chart.
Any tips on how to go about that?

Thanks

Qamar,

Try medphysfiles.com – there are some scripts, suggestions and help for getting plans from Pinn to PDF.

Hi Qamar,

In version 9 (and possibly earlier versions) it is possible to "print
to file".

1. Click print plan
2. Select printer
3. Print to file
4. Save the plan as a *.ps file
5. Open plan with Adobe Acrobat Professional (distiller will create and
save a pdf format file for you).

Hope this helps

Best Regards

Please look at our way of doing it.

It's purely coming from Pinnacle in DICOM-RT transfer. It goes in a (like Conquest) DICOM server, where a python script produce that results.
For the python module, you need reportlab, pydicom, numpy and scipy.

The BEV can be zoomed they are coming also from Pinnacle.

Plus it is also anonymized in that case to be presented in the mailing list.

Refs:

Conquest
Reportlab
pydicom
numpy and scipy

and of course python

In fact in a ARIA Record and verify system you can also pick the DICOM-Files where they arrived (on the ARIA server e.g.) and from here read them to produce the document PDF as joined in that email. Doing so you just skip the Conquest Installation. You see that we are in a ARIA environment as the order of field correspond to our actual version of Aria.

Who is better?   ;-)

Bye
Pat

Of course I can give you the program, but I'm not sure it will be of help for you without any great adaptation work to your local circonstances/conditions (network and so on).

Just ask!

U can convert from ps to PDF and put into the mosaiq directory with one batch file. Basically it would be one button click and u don't need adobe. I can send anyone the file I made if you'd rather do it like that.

Thanks Kevin,

I would be interested.

I am evaluating ways to streamline our printing process right now so this is very timely.

Thank you to all others have contributed links, files, and suggestions as well.

 Hi

We just upgraded Our Aria and we ran into problem with the first CBCT patient. When we export the DRR's to Aria, the Sup-Inf coordinate is flipped. We get an error message that Isocenter is off by 21 cm and it wont let us approve the plan. The DRR, however, looks correct.

has anyone else encountered a similar problem and is there a solution to that?

Thanks

There is a known bug in ARIA 10 which prevents from importing ADAC DRRs simultaneously with the plan.  There is a Varian customer notification which explains how to deal with the problem.  The workaround is rather annoying but it works; i.e., you first import the plan and CT images, then you import DRRs.  You should be able to find a description of the problem and the workaround on the Varian website: myvarian.com.  You can also call the helpdesk for on-line support.
