Bad Gateway error when posting multipart/form-data form with passenger 5 on apache

Hi,
we updated from passenger 4.0.35 to passenger 5.0.24 and have now a problem with our forms with file uploads. When a form with enctype="multipart/formdata" is sent to the server, this message appears:
Bad Gateway
The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
There is no entry in the apache error_log, only in the access_log is this message:
[IP] - devel [23/May/2016:10:39:45 +0200] "POST /users/34 HTTP/1.1" 502 232 "
[URL]/users/34/edit" "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:45.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/45.0"
apache: 2.4.9
passenger 5.0.24
Fedora: release 19
rails: 3.2.19
jruby: 1.7.12 (1.9.3p392)
I googled a lot but couldn't find anythin.
Any help is highly appriciated.
