Hello everyone,

I would like to announce my resignation from my current Secretary role effective immediately. I've discussed this with Michael and Samantha and they are understanding and supportive.

I want to immediately make clear why I'm resigning. I'm leaving to free up the dedicated time I have been devoting to FIG and devote that time to helping Ed Finkler take Open Sourcing Mental Illness (OSMI) to the next level. Many of you are well aware of what Ed has accomplished (and continues to do amazing things) with OSMI. Myself and a few others will working with Ed to help grow OSMI and allow the organization to do more things.

I hope FIG can get past the current issues and get back to really awesome technical things that are in the pipeline. I implore everyone to practice empathy in all discussions. Remember there is a breathing human being on the other end of that email. Take care of each other.

Joe,

I think I really speak on behalf of the entire FIG and the entire community in thanking you for everything you've done and continue to do for us.

It has been a pleasure working with you on the FIG. OSMI is very, very lucky to have you.

Samantha

I'm sorry to see you go. I know you were excited back at ZendCon when we started talking about the position.

Thank you for all the work you've done here. I know you'll do good things with OSMI.

to FIG, PHP
Joe,

These past few months you've been someone I've not only been proud to work with, but call my friend. Thank you for everything you've done, not just as secretary, but before in the helping of setting up the role beforehand as well. It's not always been easy, but you have worked tirelessly on the FIG in helping it to achieve it's essential purpose.

I hope to continue to see you around occasionally and wish you the best of luck in your future. The FIG is an important part of the PHP Ecosystem but OSMI is even more important in so many ways.

Thank you and good luck,

Michael
