Working on Article Advising Against Phonegap Desktop App

First I should say there are very good reason to use Phonegap Desktop App. I will list those reasons in the blog.

However, like many Phonegap projects this one not only lacks documentation, but it lacks clarity. It is a daily event that someone asks a question on the Nitobi forum (for the first time) and invariable the response would be:

- Is this your first hybrid App?
- Are you using the Phonegap Desktop App?
- Are you using CLI, SDK or Build?

This follows with a canned answer, if the response is:
- Yes, Yes, (whatever)
- No, Yes, (whatever)
- (whatever), Yes, (whatever)

This means if I ever get Yes to Phonegap Desktop App, then major confusion ensues and a long winded answer follows.

I'm sick and tired of writing this. As I blog this, any input is welcome.

This is a much-needed article. I wrote an article on this a LONG time ago about my experience with the App: https://iphonedevlog.wordpress.com/2014/12/16/phonegap-desktop-app-beta/
It seems that its only purpose is to mirror your desktop changes in the device as long as you are using phonegap CLI and not cordova CLI.

Yep. Your comments are correct. It drives home the obvious. HTML, CSS and Javascript.
I think because they do not have a good evangalist people often cannot believe it is that easy.
I know I did not when I started.

Any plans to update your article? or write a new one?

~~1st para: "Cordova/Phonegap" These are distinctive enough to be called "Cordova and Phonegap," aren't they?
AGREE, but won't change - most people don't see it that way.

~~2nd para: "marketing effort" should be "educational effort." Marketing is different from teaching.
DISAGREE.
The writing may have that label, but it is an overt sales marketing tool. The tool appears to be
a blunt instrument that informs the developer that only HTML, Javascript, and CSS is needed
(an one xml file.)
