Cordova.exec function not calling my plugin.

I am using Cordova 4.4.0. When I call from Cordova.exec function from my index.html, it is not calling the my custom plugin. But, it does call when the web view loses focus like pressing home button, opening notification screen or control center. I tried changing meta tags but, nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

Does your index.html have a Content Security Policy meta tag? If so, what's it look like?
