Hi,

is anyone working on refactoring of the Phalcon Devtools for the 0.5 release? I have just created a simple class for creating the stubs for 0.5 release but I cannot find the source for methods documentation. Did you add the documentation manually to inspector.php for older versions?

I could start refactoring the tools if you did not plan that yet. It would be awesome if both phalcon and the tools would be released together. Besides that Phalcon Devtools could be served through the PEAR channel or as a phar to simplify updating process and version management. What do you think?

Best

Hi, we're planning to create a script to generate those stub files (now in multiple files due to namespaces) based on this script which is used to generate the API docs:

https://github.com/phalcon/docs/blob/0.5.0/scripts/gen-api.php

If anyone want to help with that, that would help to release 0.5.0 early

The PEAR channel is a great idea, also Composer could be fine too,

thanks

IMO Composer is even a better idea, there's quite a hype about it now.

Hi Marcin,

I have consciously named the PEAR as it allows you to do a little bit more than Composer. You need admin privileges to install packages from PEAR. This in turn allows you for example to place executables in /usr/bin. Besides that PEAR packeges are installed system wide, which means no set up necessary for every single project. PEAR packages are also installed in PHP default include path which lets you to set up the external libraries in your IDE easier.

Composer is rather a project package management and it requires a little bit more set up in case of devtools. Don't understand me wrong though, I think composer is an awesome tool and we definitely should add support for that!
