Having Issues with Perian. Help!

I'm working on a video for an interview TOMORROW! When I try to import it into premier it's telling me that there is no audio or video. When I tried to open in Quicktime I kept getting the Codec warning. I downloaded perian, and now, the video will play in the "preview" panel but I still get the codec message when I try to open it. What do I do to get this to work so that I can get this edited today?

Did you restart the applications after installing Perian?
