It is said that the first casualty of war is the truth.

But actually that casualty begins even before the war starts. The Big Lie often sets the stage for War. Remember the Big Lie, repeated often enough, reaches mythical proportions, especially when left unquestioned and unchallenged.

Case in point: The Massacre of Nanking. All of us were taught, unquestioningly, that the Japanese committed atrocities that defied human belief. But was that true?

In 1937, both the Chinese Nationalists (Chiang-Kai-shek) and the Communists (Mao Tse Tung) wanted the US to enter their civil war against the Japanese who they knew to be a superior military force. Chiang-Kai-shek, himself received his military training first at a preparatory academy in Japan known as  the Tokyo Shinbu Gakko of the Imperial Japanese Army Academy, followed by military training at Baoding Academy in China set up by the Japanese for the Chinese. From 1909 to 1911 he actually serve in the Japanese Imperial Army.

War makes strange bedfellows indeed. The Chinese Nationalists, the Communists, the Japanese, and the Americans. One can only imagine the machinations set in place to create allies to serve the interests of just one of these.

And to establish alliances one has to first have a catalyst or disaster or horrific event to turn one's enemy against one's other enemy. Remember the adage, The enemy of my enemy is my friend? For the Chinese the Americans like the Japanese, Germans, British, and French had been plundering China for decades. The Chinese had no love for the Americans who had put down their Boxer Rebellion. But their greater fear was the Japanese who posed a closer threat.

So how do weaker nations get the assistance of more powerful ones to do their dirty work? Propaganda! For propaganda distorts the truth to serve a deceitful purpose.

What better way to draw the Americans into their civil war and perhaps piggy back that support against either the Nationalists or the Communists. Well, as it worked out Chiang Kai-shek won that part of the Chess Game. Chiang Kai-shek's wife and sisters won over the American Congress.

Let's for a moment look at our own most recent belligerence in the Middle East. Who in the Middle East so desperately needed American military support against a sea of Muslim enemies. Why Israel? And what was the catalyst that started our wars in Iraq and Afghanistan? 9/11, even though, Iraq and Afghanistan were not among the alleged 19 hijackers. What an interesting contradiction. But Americans were complacent and indifferent and let their "corporate rulers" (think fascism) along with their industrial-military-congressional complex have their way. And who benefited by this? The Zionists Israelis. Certainly not the American People who have since increased its military aid to Israel and diminished its tax revenues for its own People here at home.

In short Netanyahu and his Khazarian Jewish Mafia played the American People to fight their enemies for them and to sacrifice their sons and daughters and treasure. And why were five Israelis seen filming the World Center's burning on 9/11 on top of a van across the Hudson River and giving high fives to each other as documented in this video below? And later the very same Israelis admitted on Tel Aviv television that they were there to document the event.

They knew the event was going to happen? How? Were they involved?

Who have vilified the Muslims, their People and Countries, more than the Zionist Israeli Jews, while at the same time stealing the Palestinians' land to build settlements on Palestinian land? Whose assistance has guaranteed their success in their propaganda and thievery than the American government?

Though this is a digression, perhaps you begin to see with a more recent example how propaganda works, who it serves, and how The Big Lie becomes historical myth through repetition in our blind and unquestioning of the FACTS.

Now let's apply this to Nanking.

When Hu Jintao, former president of China (who by the way was a proponent of the Nanking Massacre narrative), visited Japan in 2008, the Committee for the Examination of the Facts about Nanking (Japanese committee) handed him an open letter, and requested his answer. The main points of the letter were the following.

(1) The president late Mao Tsetung had never referred to the “Nanking Massacre” even once in his life.

(2) From Dec. 1, 1937, till Nov. 24, 1938, the spokesman of the Chinese nationalist party gave about 300 press interviews at Hankou, but never mentioned that “Civilians were massacred in Nanking” nor “prisoners of war were illegally executed.”

(3) According to the “International Committee” which took care of the “Nanking Safety Zone” (the Japanese military installed a safety zone in Nanking to protect civilians, and had Westerners take care of the civilians), the population of Nanking just before the fall of Nanking was about 200,000. How could the Japanese military massacre 300,000 people in a city that has only 200,000?

Later, the Committee also announced that the Nanking population had increased to about 250,000 a month after the occupation. If Nanking were a completely devastating city, why did Chinese citizens come back to Nanking, which increased the population?

(4) The same record also listed crimes of Japanese soldiers. In the list, murders were 26 cases in total, one of which was actually witnessed, and the rest were all hearsay. It was evidently declared that the witnessed murder was a legitimate killing, and the Japanese are not responsible for it. This record indicates that your country’s claim of the Nanking Massacre is false.

(5) The Nanking Massacre Memorial Museum displays many pictures of the alleged massacre by the Japanese military, and other museums in China and books also do the same; however, we now know from many pieces of evidence and scientific research that not even one of the pictures is genuine. Every one of them is either unrelated to Nanking, fabricated or elaborated.

This open letter ends with the words, “Wishing the true friendly relationship between China and Japan, we handed this to you. We look forward to hearing your response.”

China has yet to formulate a cogent response to the open letter. They can’t answer, because the Chinese Communist Party knows that the Nanking Massacre was an elaborate hoax.

Photos from Iris Chang's book, The Rape of Nanking - The Forgotten Holocaust of WWII, were take from Chiang-Kai-shek's personal collection of photos from other military atrocities. Many of the photos the Western world saw were found later to be fabricated or unrelated to Nanking.

Ralph Townsend, the American vice consul, who was in Shanghai at the time, saw the atrocities being committed by the Chinese themselves and warned the American government of the propaganda and warned the US to trust Japan not the Chinese,

And let's remember Mao Tse Tung has gone down in history as being responsible for the deaths of 45 to 65 million human beings, half of them dying during peace time. He starved to death and overworked his own countrymen till they dropped dead. And yet the myth of the Great Helmsman lives on, an example of how even propaganda and myth outlive the historical facts. By the way, as his countrymen were dying and his close higher echelon of his government were begging him to let up and feed his People adequately, he was enjoying meals served which include often three to five different kinds of meat. When criticized for this he once embarked on a propaganda show for his People by saying he would only eat vegetarian. This lasted three weeks. He went back to his lavish meals and justified them by saying his Communist followers wanted him to eat well. 

Come to think of it, Mao's cherubic figure never reflected the gaunt and emaciated build of the average Chinese person at that time, did it? The Chinese people for Mao were abstractions after the war as well as during the war, meant to be slaughtered for whatever propaganda purposes that served his agenda. 

Both the Nationalists and the Communists were responsible for the majority of the 40,000 deaths of Chinese at Nanking. Yes, 40,000, not 300,000. {The first source of the so-called “Nanking Massacre” was not a Chinese but an American who was a supporter of the Chinese Nationalists. Miner S. Bates (1897-1978), who was in Nanking as a leading member of the International Committee for the Nanking Safety Zone, wrote in January 1938:

“Evidence from burials indicates that close to forty thousand unarmed persons were killed within and near the walls of Nanking, of whom some 30 percent had never been soldiers.”}

But 300,000 sounded so much better for the purposes they envisioned to bring the Americans into their civil war on their respective sides. So the Big Sell, the Rape of Nanking by the Japanese, became the false narrative.

Thus, the so-called atrocities in Nanking were committed by the Chinese soldiers hiding in the Safety Zone set up by the Japanese to protect the Chinese civilians. They even killed Chinese civilians. One of the witnesses was James Espy, the American vice-consul in Nanking, who reported this to the American Embassy in Hankou.

The following is taken from Jonas E. Alexis' interview with Arimasa Kubo and Moteki Hiromichi:

Thus, the so-called atrocities in Nanking were committed by the Chinese soldiers hiding in the Safety zone. They even killed Chinese civilians. One of the witnesses was James Espy, the American vice-consul in Nanking. He reported to the American Embassy at Hankou,

“During the last few days some violations of people and property were undoubtedly committed by them [Chinese soldiers]. Chinese soldiers in their mad rush to discard their military uniforms and put on civilian clothes, in a number of incidents, killed civilians to obtain their clothing.”

The Chinese soldiers thus killed Chinese civilians. Japanese soldiers also witnessed their dead bodies in the streets. They were many. The Chinese soldiers did this to obtain civilian clothing and to hide in the refugee camp.

Why did the Chinese soldiers choose to hide and not run away from Nanking? Because if the Chinese soldiers tried to escape from Nanking, they would have been killed by Chinese soldiers. Those soldiers were called the “supervisory unit.” They used to wait at the back gate of Nanking. They were also ordered to kill any of their fellow soldiers trying to flee from the battlefield.

Many Chinese soldiers were killed that way. There was a mountain of dead bodies at the back gate. A Japanese soldier saw the scene, weeping and said, “What a country! Compatriots kill compatriots.” Keep also in mind that the US supported Chiang Kai-shek and his Chinese military.

The amazing thing is that injured Chinese soldiers who surrendered could get treatments from the Japanese army medics. In the POW camp, they could even enjoy playing the Chinese music instruments. How different was that, compared with the Chinese military?

A Chinese soldier Liu Qixiong was once hiding in the Nanking Safety Zone and was caught as a POW. He was used as a coolie with salary for a while in the Japanese military. Seeing the lives of the Japanese, he himself became pro-Japanese, and later became the commander of a brigade for Wang Jingwei’s pro-Japanese government.

So, are we really shocked to find out that the victors of war get to write their own narrative of historical fraud? And are we surprised that our own Fourth Estate, better known today as American Presstitutes, has no moral conviction when it comes to the Truth?

This is where we're at. If we want the Truth, we have to do our own investigation, we cannot rely on the mainstream media...if we ever could.

What's left to us? The internet? Maybe not anymore as Net Neutrality has been taken away from us just this past week with our Congress' acquiescence. And many of us were just as asleep this past week as we were then when the myth of the rape of Nanking got going.

So what other historical narratives have we been deceived by? 9/11, anybody? 

Wake up, America. We're being played.
