You can try the Pentadactyl nightly build. If Firefox complains about the nightly not being compatible, you can either try to disable compatibility checking (I usually use this add-on for that, though it looks like it might have been broken by a recent Firefox update: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-Us/firefox/addon/checkcompatibility/; you might be able to use this method as an alternative: http://dottech.org/151458/how-to-disable-compatibility-checks-for-firefox-add-ons-guide/) or you can edit Pentadactyl's install.rdf file to change the maxVersion string to 43 (or *). Also, Firefox is undergoing a change that will require all add-ons be signed by Mozilla for the Release and Beta versions of Firefox. In Firefox Nightly now, there is a preference (xpinstall.signatures.required -- see: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Addons/Extension_Signing) that must be set to false in order for unsigned extensions to be signed.

If you need help with the install.rdf change, you can send another message to ask, but look in the mailing list archives here. The need to update install.rdf has been brought up in the mailing every couple months when Firefox updates before Pentadactyl does.

You need to use Firefox Nightly for work, so you don't have a choice, but I will just give you a warning that you should expect breakage with Pentadactyl and Firefox Nightly. Updates to Firefox often introduce bugs that don't get fixed in Pentadactyl until it is in Beta or Release. This is a result of Pentadactyl having a small development team while being tightly coupled to a large fraction of Firefox's functionality.
