Something like :set noshowmode?

Does pentadactyl have the vim equivalent of   :set noshowmode

i have the bottom bar turrned off unless im entering a command.
However, when using the inspector to modify/debug HTML, it pops up and shift the inspector window up enough to get in the way

I'm hoping to hide -- INSERT --, etc for good :)
