Hey pdxruby!
We're hiring the following position on a contract basis:
Who we are: Barre3 is a whole-body health lifestyle opyompany reaching clients all around the world via its network of
88 exercise studios and
barre3 Online video streaming subscription service. We’ve recently started a small and ambitious in-house technology department (currently only three people) to create online experiences that have a dramatic impact on the whole body health of our thousands of clients. We’re a two-month-old startup living inside a six-year-old startup.
What we need: We’re in the middle of a transition here at barre3. We’re maintaining a WordPress / WooCommerce site that supports our SaaS online workouts platform while building a replacement in test-driven Rails. We need someone to roll up their sleeves and help fix, migrate and document the funky innards of our old site and help build a better, more maintainable version of it in Rails.
Qualifications: We’re looking for a seasoned web developer who’s been through their share of awkward database migrations and join queries. It would be great if you have WordPress, WooCommerce or Rails experience, but none are required if you have rich backend experience working on other kinds of web apps. We’re looking for someone who’s able to put in at least 20 hours a week on this project during week days, but ideally a full 40 hour week. We think it would be most efficient if you could work most of the time from our office on N Williams Street, but we can hash things out via Slack if need be.
What we offer: We offer competitive contracting rates based on experience in per-week (40 hour) chunks. Are you or your significant other a barre3 client or interested in becoming one? We can make a studio membership part of the deal as well. Lastly, if you’re interested in a full time web development gig, this contract position could turn into that if we like working together.
Interested? Send a resume and short cover letter in the body of your email to peter.marks [ a t ] barre3 [ d o t ] com.
Thanks for your consideration and hit me up if you're interested.
Best,
Peter
