Reminder that the May Hadoop/Data group meeting is set on the calendar for tomorrow. I'm late getting out notice and want to confirm we have enough in motion for putting together this meeting.

Dave R -- can you confirm the room is still available/reserved for us tomorrow night?

Anyone -- could someone post the event on Calagator if Dave R replies yes?

*Presenters -- at the last meeting we asked for 3-4 presenter volunteers to each give simple, 1-topic, focused 10-minute presentations about any related subject. As of now the only person who has confirmed is Edward B (is this correct). Do we have any other volunteers? This can be and is meant to be as simple as you'd like: demo of software, algorithm, process, experiment, etc.

Lastly, given the short notice, please reply with a quick "Yes" if you're planning to attend. If we don't have enough interest, it might be reasonable to just postpone the meeting until next month.

Dave is at HBaseCon today. Internal calendar shows space booked here tomorrow. Oddly, also shows space booked *next* Wednesday. Our scheduler isn't sure why that is, but would like to know ASAP which day is actually correct. 

Meanwhile, someone just showed me this R-Hbase interface: https://github.com/RevolutionAnalytics/RHadoop/wiki/rhbase Has anyone here used it before? Curious if it's useful at all.

So I think what happened with the two dates was that Erik reserved "the last Wednesday of the month" for the next several months. Then DSP suggested "May 23rd," people OKed it on the list, and Dave reserved that day without realizing it was a dupe/change. 

Since people are confirming for tomorrow I will confirm that here and volunteer to stick around to lock up, in case the "change" surprises Erik.

Tonight we'll have a shorter, 1-hour meeting with the focus being discussion of the future needs/wants/desires for this group. This is the third meeting and we've attempted a variety of formats and topics of interest. As a group tonight we'll discuss how the things are going and what should happen next.
