Hi,

we are in 3.1.0 and on some computers the webviewer not display pages (thumbnails and pages) on IE 11.

You can find 2 screenshot attach.

- pdf_ie.JPG => show the IE problem
- pdf_chrome.JPG => show the full document in chrome

the problem is the same in 2.2.2 on the same computers.

edit: it seem this due to the graphic card (Intel HD Graphics 4600). Why? Because when we connect to the same computer with MSTSC (distant desk) we can see all the docs.

Hi,

We'll consider this one solved then since it's due to the computer's graphics card.

Hello,

we found why between IE and Chrome there was a difference. In Chrome, hardware acceleration is enabled by default and not on IE.
By activating hardware acceleration under IE, we have access to the thumbnails.
This does not happen on all items but only a few that do not have the same characteristics.

Can you explain why should I enable this setting? This means that we have to distribute it to all our customers for activation via GPO and therefore this has an impacting aspect.

To clarify, you see thumbnails and pages not rendering in IE11 on every document when hardware acceleration is not enabled? When you enable hardware acceleration then every document can be rendered? Or are you saying that with hardware acceleration not enabled some documents work and some don't but after enabling it then all documents work? Are you able to reproduce the issue on any computer after disabling hardware acceleration?

On a computer that has this problem in IE with hardware acceleration disabled, are you able to view other web pages that render to a canvas? For example does this canvas demo work: https://codepen.io/eltonkamami/pen/ECrKd
It's not clear why this setting would need to be enabled on some computers but it seems that it may be a bug with Internet Explorer itself.

Hi,

we test the link before and after activating hardware acceleration and we see the canvas animation perfectly.
All of the pdf are impacted with the param disable. The impacted machine has no GPU extern but GPU inside the CPU (Intel Graphics).
My machine have a GPU card alone and i have no problem. Our director has the same config with integrated GPU and he have the same problem until we activate hardware acceleration.

If you disable hardware acceleration in Chrome on those machines are you still able to view documents inside WebViewer?

It's unclear why those machines would seem to require hardware acceleration to be enabled to view documents in IE. Would it be possible for you to create a VM that is able to reproduce the problem that we can try on our end?
