Create a custom annotation after a simple click

I'm trying to add a custom annotation after a single click (mouse left) and not a drag and release event.

In the "custom annotation tutorial", it explains how to add a custom annotation after dragging down the mouse from point A to point B. Indeed you are using the "GenericAnnotationCreateTool" which requires 2 mouse points.

I would like to do the same but with one single click, for instance with a predefined Triangle (or rectangle).
