Hi

Has anyone done any work on the most effective way to secure pdfs in the browser. Obviously a password can be set on the pdf, and this can be passed into pdf webviewer, but regardless of how much obfuscation might be applied it is a plain text password that can be sniffed out in the javascript. Has anyone looked at the likes of signed passwords that are processed and passed to pdfnet webviewer in a compiled module?

Thanks
Glen

Hi Glen,

Currently there isn't a way to process and pass a password directly from a compiled module to WebViewer's PDF worker. Your best bet may be to use encrypted XOD files because although the password could be sniffed out in JavaScript, WebViewer is still the only thing that can process an encrypted XOD.

Thanks Matt - that is helpful response - we will investigate the encrypted XOD option.
