The green bar that shows loading progress is about 80% full and at that moment I got this message: UPLOAD FAILED, SERVER ERROR, PLEASE RETRY LATER...
I've tried using various browsers, different computers, no results. I see similar problem happened before, but I do not see any solution.
Thanks!
Brano

I can upload without any problem.

What is the size of your photos? Aren't they over size limit? Did you try to upload your photos with EXIF removed?

Hint: exiftool.exe

How do you remove EXIF?

Seems this issue is regional. Weeks ago a Taiwan user also reported same problem.

It could be regional or it may hit randomly, or perhaps a bit of both. I've experienced Google error a few times this week when accessing Panoramio photos, perhaps it's related? Google's systems appears to be fine at the moment, so I don't know.

I have same problem with panorama pictures. I tried to upload 5957x1000 px picture: server error, but normal 1600x1200 px picture was uploaded normally.
Panoramas uploaded fine in beginning of january.

That can't be the problem! I just uploaded this photo: http://www.panoramio.com/photo/86892092
16183 x 2572 px  19.3 MB

The problem have been acknowledged by the admins, they are looking into the matter. Let's wait for them to do their magic.

Today, the team has installed a patch that will solve some of the upload problems. Apparently Panoramio had problems dealing with pictures that do not contain a timestamp in the exif information because the site then fails to generate  the tag with the year. Please empty you cache and try again...

For the first time ever, I am not able to upload new photos. I've tried the old & new versions of Pano and Safari & Firefox browsers. The message I get is...
"Upload failed: unknown error."

I just tried again with Firefox and got the same error message. It worked earlier today, but not now!

Have you already tried emptying the cache, deleting the cookies and logging in again?

I signed out & then in, I restarted, but I have no idea how to delete cookies or empty the cache. Like I said, this is the first time I've ever had this problem in over 5 years and was working earlier this afternoon. I just tried again and still got the error message.

And I just tried again and it worked… go figure! Thanks, Daniela, for giving it a try!

Strange!  Sorry to hear about the (thankfully) transient issue.

In the future, one easier way to check if "it's you" or if it's a Panoramio problem is to open up either a Private Browsing window in Firefox or an Incognito Window in Chrome.

In each case, you'll start a new session on Panoramio (and have to log in), without any pre-existing cookies or (I think) cache to worry about.

If it works in that mode, then you know the issue is with your browser.  If things are still broken, then it's likely either an issue with your ISP or with Panoramio.

I think that's what I did Adam. I always use Safari, but tried Firefox on the outside chance it would work after signing in. It didn't! But after several attempts on both browsers, Safari eventually did work. Strange, indeed!
