Is it possible to save certain projects in RStudiowith specific R versions? I have some projects I need to run in R version 3.1.x and others that require 3.2.x. After I set up each project with packrat, I ran into trouble upon opening projects of different R versions. RStudio remembers the last R version you were in, so using packrat I was forced to reinstall packages that I had running in my 3.1.x library to 3.2.x, subsequently breaking some projects, just upon opening RStudio. I have since stopped using packrat but would like to use it to preserve R versions and package versions. Thanks for any tips.

Cheers,
Emma

Hi Emma,

Unfortunately, RStudio doesn't yet automatically select the marked version of R for a packrat project -- you need to do it by hand. If you're using Windows, one option is to use 'Ctrl + Click' when launching RStudio, and then choose the appropriate version of R according to the project you're going to work in, but I admit this is a bit clumsy.

I'll add a note on the RStudio side to see if we can make this possible in the future.

Thanks,
Kevin
