Hi everyone,

I am trying to port the tests specified in packetdrill for linux to FreeBSD. I was wondering that whether I would be able to run the tests for linux in FreeBSD directly. If this is not possible, is there some way that I can port the tests to FreeBSD because afaik, there is only one test which is specified in bsd/fast_retransmit?

Thanks.

Hi,

The packetdrill tool works on {Free,Net,Open}BSD as well as Linux, but I suspect you will find small differences in behavior between any of the BSD stacks and Linux for most of the test cases.  I am not aware of a good general way to deal with this other than modifying each of the test cases by hand to match the behavior you expect from a particular TCP stack.

Hope that helps,
neal
