The Ozone Development team has created a wiki for developers to setup a local development environment. These instructions detail how to deploy an the entire Ozone Platform in a virtual box and then how to setup a local development environment.

The OZP Development team has successfully walk through these instructions and are interested in any community feedback as far as successes, failures, and potential improvement.

On Windows, there are know issues with Vagrant 1.8.1 to be fixed in the upcoming 1.8.2. See https://github.com/mitchellh/vagrant/issues?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=milestone%3A1.8.2+
In the interim, you can manually patch the .rb files under C:\HashiCorp\Vagrant\embedded\gems\gems\vagrant-1.8.1\plugins\provisioners\ansible

@Francois - Thank you for the Windows tip.  We are continuously looking for community support in keeping our documentation up to date and accurate.  If you are interested in updating the Developer_Setup wiki with your Windows tip you could clone the wiki and make a pull request. https://github.com/ozone-development/ozp-documentation.wiki.git . Public contributions to an Open Source Project projects is a great thing to have.

The OZP development team appreciates all contributions to code and documentation.

OK, I did that, or at least I tried. It’s my first time trying to create a pull request for a GitHub Wiki and I can’t seem to figure out how to do it from the GitHub Web site or this Thick App.

I used this command:

>git request-pull 30bc04f00b19c38e738571c58d272fe8519945e0 https://github.com/fstarnaud/ozp-documentation-wiki

From my understanding, I need to send this information out-of-band, so here it is, hoping you can make sense of this!

The following changes since commit 30bc04f00b19c38e738571c58d272fe8519945e0:

  Updated Iteration 43 (markdown) (2016-02-03 11:14:44 -0500)

are available in the git repository at:

  https://github.com/fstarnaud/ozp-documentation-wiki windows

for you to fetch changes up to cce2b471a343847870e9a859c50105ea0108e772:

Added instructions on using Vagrant under Windows (2016-02-03 14:58:44 -0500)

Well totally new to OWP and only looked at OWF and ran demo before so limited to no experience so here is what I ran into.
Well first thing I ran into was your Pre-requisites is incomplete. Need to list ansible also.

Next you follow directions then what fro the newbee? So looked around saw port 4440 listening, so tried from browser to connect, nothing. So started looking around.

Next going through the README in ozp-ansible/roles/offline/files (that was not easy to find either) see I needed some file here (where is that in the directions?)

"The files that need to be in this directory are not kept in version control
due to their size.

Expected files:

nginx-1.9.4.tar.gz (nginx source)
postgresql-9.4.5.tar.gz (postgresql source)
Python-3.4.3.tgz (Python source)
node-v0.12.7-linux-x64.tar.gz (node source)
node-v5.3.0-linux-x64.tar.gz (node source)
backend.tar.gz (ozp-backend release as created by Jenkins)
center.tar.gz (ozp-center release as created by Jenkins)
hud.tar.gz (ozp-hud release as created by Jenkins)
webtop.tar.gz (ozp-webtop release as created by Jenkins)
iwc.tar.gz (ozp-iwc release as created by Jenkins)
demo_apps.tar.gz (ozp-demo release as created by Jenkins)
demo-auth-service-1.0.0.tar.gz (demo-auth-service release as created by Jenkins)
 "

Ok could find most but not sure where the demo ones are. Looked through git hub not easy to find/can't find. Thus why posting maybe someone can point this out. But a comment need to make directions easy for the newbies or they will just say too immature to use.  A comment already one colleague has made. True or false its an initial perception to help your adoption.
