Hello

Does anybody have a PDF of

Archaeology of the Gallus site, Koonalda Cave

Wright, R. V. S. (ed)
Canberra, Australian Institute of Aboriginal Studies, 1971.

Having recently moved, many of my books are still in storage.

The National Library of Australia mentions an online version, but I can't track it down.

Regards,

Richard

Hi Richard

Just caught up with your email.  I thought, mmm,  pretty sure I’ve got a copy of that book somewhere.   l too am moving and the house is an obstacle course of boxes of books. Glanced down at one of the half-packed boxes  at my feet beside the computer desk, and there’s your book, right on the top.

I don’t have a digital version … but can scan a few pages for you.  Let me know if no-one else can help.

Richard,
I don't have a pdf version of the Koonalda Cave book, but you are quite welcome to borrow (or even keep) the copy I have until you have unpacked all your books. It is not a book I use. I could post it to you.
Best wishes
Val

Richard’s question has made me wonder whether there should be a program to make all the old texts accessible via PDF before they disappear. I have quite a few in my bookshelves but scarcely use them except to tell some ignorant historians that archaeologists have been studying the relationships between Aboriginal people and their environment since the late 1960s rather than this being an idea of some recent historians.

I know pretty much all of Terra Australis is PDFed and of course if you have the $$$ you can access Mankind, AO or AAA (or ask if anyone has a copy of a particular article). But the larger books like Earliest Man and Environments, Stone Tools as Cultural Markers as well as the Koonalda book are only available as “antiques”. Maybe we should work on scanning the texts for future generations (ignoring the copyright issues).

Cheers

Dr Iain Stuart
