how to use fuse_lowlevel_notify_inval_inode from obj C

Hello;

I have just started adding OS X FUSE support to my product. It's coming along very well, but the problem that concerns me is how to indicate to FUSE that something in  my remote file system has changed.

I understand that there us a low level API fuse_lowlevel_notify_inval_inode

but I am unclear at to how to feed this API given a path?

any advice?
