The Bethel School District in Eugene is hiring a half-time Safe Routes to School coordinator!

Bethel School District is seeking qualified applicants for a Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Coordinator position.   The SRTS Project Coordinator is a temporary, 12 month, half-time, 2 year grant-funded cycle position. A Bachelor’s degree, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skill, and ability to perform the job is required.

A Safe Routes to School Coordinator is responsible for increasing the percentage of Bethel school youth safely walking and biking to school through education, encouragement, and enforcement activities and programs.

Candidates should possess the following skills:

• Ability to encourage and motivate student and parent participation in SRTS activities
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
• Ability to efficiently and effectively utilize technology and technological tools (e.g., BLOGS, email, etc.) in communications
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrators, students, parents, teachers, volunteers, community members and associated public agencies’ staff
