Hi OpenXC community!

I've been googling a lot and couldn't figure out if we can steer a vehicle via this interface ?

I saw that we can read the steering wheel angle but let's assume we have a vehicle with park assist would it be possible to steer / accelerate / brake the vehicle via OpenXC?

The idea would be to implement like Tesla is doing with its park itself feature.

thanks a lot for your answer!

I would like to ask the exactly same questions..
The website (http://openxcplatform.com/) mentions that it is possible but couldn't find any example?

Here is a feature from the website - Raw CAN reading and writing via USB and Bluetooth

Thanks,

Hi guys,

I too would like to do this... yes OpenXC can write CAN messages, but we do not know which messages to use for steering/braking etc. (and on which CAN bus) - Ford keeps this info secret for itself, the only chance here is to reverse engineer... I guess the Focus Mk3 has parking assist that uses electric power steering to control wheels and it also has a LIDAR front collision assist (by Continental I guess) which is able to brake... so the task here is to grab such a car and try things out (=reverse engineer). The throttle may probably be controlled too, not sure if ACC is needed for that or not.
