Newbie Question Regarding Spreadsheet

Hello, I just discovered OpenXC as I am working on my Senior Project for my Computer Engineering degree. My goal is to develop a self parking car and I feel that the steering wheel angle data would be very beneficial to me. I, however, own a 2012 Escape and noticed that the compatible vehicle spreadsheet's cutoff for Escapes is 2013. So, I guess my question is: What exactly does this mean? Does this mean that it is not possible to read any data from my car's can bus? Or does it mean that the signals in my car have not been decoded. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Michael,

It usually means we haven't had a chance to test it yet. From a quick check, it looks like that vehicle could be a type1. Please try that out and let us know how it goes. 

Even if it is not type1, you will stiff have access to the standard diagnostic data.
