Sampath,

Which version of firmware have you programmed into the device? Are you using a Ford VI, Crosschasm C5? Have you installed the USB driver for windows? We'll need a lot more information in order to help you debug the issue.

In addition, please see this thread for info that sounds similar and was fixed a new release of the firmware.

Regards,
Eric

Sampath,

Please answer the questions in my first reply. You need to provide more information so we can help you. It doesn't make any sense that it work on a PC vs laptop. It's something with the environment on those particular machines.

Does the VI get detected by your laptop under the same circumstances (same firmware, plugged into same vehicle OR emulator build)?

The emulator build is the easiest way to keep the device alive and let you verify your setup.

Assuming your firmware is configured to stay awake under the circumstances you are testing (either you have the emulator build OR you have a custom/Ford build connected to a supported vehicle CAN bus)....

Have you tried the ports on the "back" of your PC? I've seen issues with the front-mounted USB ports on some desktops.

We've also observed some issues with connection stability on certain computers, laptop and PC (windows), but the device is always detected in those cases.
