Hi,

How to start the openTsdb as a service like below.

'service opentsdb start' to start the tsd and 'service opentsdb stop' to gracefully shutdown.

After hitting the below command, I am getting the below error :

Command Used : service opentsdb start

ThinkCentre-M93p:~$ service opentsdb start
 * Starting TSD...                                                                                                                              touch: cannot touch ‘/var/run/opentsdb.pid’: Permission denied
/etc/init.d/opentsdb: 68: ulimit: error setting limit (Operation not permitted)

Please help me.

Regards
Manoj Sharma

Which OS and package did you install? And typically you need to "sudo service opentsdb start" so that it can switch users.
