TSD CPU utilization

Aside from the TSD compaction process which is well known to increase the TSD's CPU utilization, what other factors drastically increase the TSD's CPU utilization - assume that the inserts are around 300-400K DPS...If compaction is disabled, do the TSDs continue running without any problems at these high ingest rates? Thanks

Yes, the TSD utilization is pretty consistent assuming your data rates stay the same. The issues you'd most likely face first would be GC and OOMing if HBase is down for some period as RPCs will back up in memory.
