OTP release schedule

It seems that past few releases came out with 1 year between them and a year has now passed since OTP 1.4.

Are we expecting 1.5 or 2.0 to be released soon? Or is 1.4 is going to stay as the most recent released version for some more time?

Hi Juris,

Development on OTP 2.0 has been underway for about two years. We are currently in the process of making a release candidate for final testing, and expect a 2.0 release before December.

The 2.0 release candidate should be available in the next couple of days if you want to try it out or provide feedback. I’ll post a message here when it’s ready.

Many changes have also occurred on the 1.x branch, and we will tag a final 1.5 release concurrently with the 2.0 release. After that point, a working group will take over maintenance of the 1.5 branch.
