Hi,

I want to add a list of tree species found in India.

We have setup OTM-CORE server and already created a instance in it.

Now we have to add these listed tree species in to data base so that it will be available to the users.

I checked the thread in this group and found a thread for OTM1 / OTM-Legacy which has the commands for importing form python manage.py level.

I have few questions,

  • How can we import this species list [procedure to import] for otm-core?
  • What format is required (i.e. csv or any other) which can be used for importing the list?
  • Also what should be sequence of the data items in this import file?

Thanks...

Regards..

If you can wait a week or so, the next release of otm-core will have a set of management pages including a bulk importer for species and trees with a CSV template and instructions for each.

Hello Rick,

Does this commit has the species importer update too?

I already updated my code but didnt find the change in the url  /{instance_name}/importer/

Is there anything else to be done?

Please help as I have been waiting for this update for long time.

Thank you

Yes, the species importer UI is included. They share the same management page at

{instance}/management/bulk-uploader/

So then i tried uploading a species files and the below message i am seeing for long time.

The files are in queue but they are not getting processed.

Imports are run in the background via Celery. Make sure celery is running by checking service celeryd status. If it is not running, start it with service celeryd start

The values in the header row in your CSV must be an exact match to the ones listed on that screenshot. It looks like there are some extra or unrecognized characters in the “I-Tree Code” header.
