Hello Thinkerers!

I am so glad to have you here in the group, please feel free to drop a mail to others about your own work and interests, maybe you will find collaborators and advisers here to help take your work forward!

A few updates from my side -

I have been working on a newly designed, compact version of Keyano.. The new design is flat, shaped like an egg.. Egg being a symbol of new birth and hope, apart from the fact that the oval shape has no sharp corners and is less prone to damage if it drops from a height..

So here are the pictures... The new body : http://db.tt/Hxl1P0MU  (Notice the note engraved at the bottom, and a small hole at the top to wear it as a necklace / bracelet!) The fully assembled device : http://db.tt/w94DfPiS  (All the circuit is now small enough that it fits behind the slim speaker!) and the port : http://db.tt/gqGD3KXD  (where you plug in the keybaord!)..

I am trying to explore a few more ideas with musical instruments..

The other news being, I have left my job as a researcher in Singapore and Tokyo, I am now travelling across different countries testing out the toys with more kids, collecting feedback! Right now, I am preparing to visit Bhutan - a small kingdom nation in the Himalayas.. where opportunities are just opening up for the kids..

You have an awesome day ahead! And we'd love to hear from you!!

LOVE the new design.
It looks slick and classy.

Will the keyano feature a headphone jack?
That would be an important element to me.

Thanks for the update.

Awesome! I really think you are on to something big with this idea.
The new design looks great. Have you considered running a
kickstarter.com campaign to get the first prototype built and
distributed? You would probably sell thousands there and help fund
additional progress. Maybe do a 1:1 deal (get one and donate one).

I work with a group of kids in San Francisco: http://homeaway.org/ we
are really interested in getting technology solutions together that
are low cost and help teach. Your product is perfect. I'm preparing
to run a test with the students and an app I've been working on
www.picthatword.com It's all about teaching new vocabulary through
photography.

Enjoy your trip! I travelled in Asia for 9 months last year. I
didn't get to Bhutan but I understand its amazing. I think travelling
to with the product and meeting with kids is an great idea. I visited
some schools while travelling and this kind of product would change
the dynamic for so many rural school children assuming they have
access to electricity.

If there is anything I can do to help out with your project let me
know. I'm interested in what you are doing, it's very cool!
