utgard - how to get the status of adding new Item

Hi,

I am starting using utgard in order to communicate with an OPC server and getting variables values. In some cases, a variable does not exist so I get the warning "org.openscada.opc.lib.da.AccessBase - Failed to add item" which is the correct answer. Is there anyway to get the item adding status like a method to call or other ?
