Dear NRDP User,

Please be aware that between the hours of 02:00 and 04:00 BST on Tuesday 06/06/2017 we will be undertaking a software release for the NRDP system.

This release is to address the recent issues experienced with the NRDP platform being unstable and requiring frequent restarts.

There will be around 20 minutes of downtime within this window where the feeds will not be available.

This is being done within the usual resync window so we anticipate no additional impact on service availability.

If the system requires a manual restart between now and the release window we will bring forward the planned release and restart the system with the new code and configuration in place in order to minimise any further disruption.

I sincerely apologise for the recent reduction in service levels for the NRDP feeds. When the new feeds were implemented at the start of May 2017 there was an error in the expiration headers for the new Real Time Incident Updates messages.

This meant that when an end user stopped consuming from their queue their incident messages would start to accumulate. This eventually led to extremely high ActiveMQ memory usage which the system could not recover from and would require a manual restart.

This release will resolve that issue. I thank you all for your patience during this period of disruption.

Please do not hesitate to contact us with any queries relating to this announcement.

Kind regards

Apologies for any inconvenience due to the restart.
